Abstract
A potentiometric sensor for urea has been made by immobilizing the¢¥ bacterium Proteans mirabilis on a ammonia gas-sensor.
This bio-electrode gives good results and selectivity for urea determination.
The response of the bio-electrode is linear range between 3.0X10-4 and 7.O X 10-2 M urea with a response slop of 59.0 mV/decade at pH 8.0 and 30?C in the 0.2 M TRIS-HCl buffer solution. This bio-electrode was investigated for the effects of pH, temperature, buffer solution, bacterial amounts, interferences, inorganic salts, lifetime, and so on.
Actually this bio-electrode will be useful for determination of urea and clinical applications.
